FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is DofEmu safe to use? Will I get banned?

DofEmu runs the official Dofus Touch web client inside a desktop window. It does not inject packets, modify memory, or automate gameplay actions — the kinds of things Ankama explicitly bans for. That said, third-party clients are not officially endorsed; use at your own risk and review the source code if you want to verify.

Is DofEmu an emulator?

Not in the Android-emulator sense. DofEmu is not BlueStacks or NoxPlayer — there is no Android virtual machine and no APK. It is an Electron wrapper around the Dofus Touch web client, which means lower CPU and memory usage and no virtualization layer.

How is DofEmu different from a bot?

Bots typically read or inject network packets and act on the game without user input. DofEmu does none of that. Auto-group and auto-invite use the regular game flow — the same actions you would do manually — and require you to be at your keyboard.

What platforms does DofEmu support?

Windows (.exe installer), macOS (.dmg, both Intel and Apple Silicon), and Linux (AppImage). Builds are produced for every release on the GitHub Releases page.

Can I run multiple accounts at the same time?

Yes. DofEmu supports up to 5 simultaneous game sessions in tabs on the same machine, each with its own login. See the multi-account section for details.

Is DofEmu free?

Yes — DofEmu is free and licensed under GPL-3.0. You can read the source, contribute, or fork it on GitHub.

Is DofEmu official from Ankama?

No. DofEmu is an unofficial, community-built desktop client. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ankama Games.

How do I install DofEmu?

Download the installer for your platform from the homepage or the GitHub Releases page, run it, and sign in with your existing Ankama account. Detailed steps are on the install page.

Open Source
